A better alternative to the AWA GAP Basic Plan

I’m sure they’d love to keep your business.
But if you bought a supplemental plan called the GAP Basic plan through Homeland Healthcare and the Affiliated Workers Alliance, you’ve received a couple of notices (most recently today) that your current plan is being terminated.
They would love to have you switch to a more profitable different plan, but how long will that plan last?
We’re recommending that our clients go a different direction – just like we are.

A Better Alternative

The good news is there’s a plan with similar benefits available from a more established and reputable insurance company, the IHC Premier Plan. To be honest, the benefits are actually better.
The Premier Plan’s benefits include:

  • Critical illness
  • Accident medical expense insurance
  • Term life
  • Accident death and dismemberment insurance
  • Accident disability income insurance
  • Teladoc service

The Premier Plan provides supplemental benefits that will help you and your family pay for care if something unexpected happens. And after all, isn’t that the point of insurance?
These benefits can help you and your family meet your (high) health insurance deductible or pay for care if you don’t have health insurance at all.

How much does it cost?

There are four benefit levels available, and the prices run between $25 – $55 for individual coverage, and $42 – $99 for family coverage.
The plan we think fits most of our clients the best is Plan 2, which provides a $5,000 accident and critical illness benefit, among other things. (That’s the one we’re buying personally.) It costs $34.95 for an individual or $59.95 for family coverage.
