Everyone is now technically required to have health insurance.
Hey – we’re not here to be political – that’s just the way it is whether we like it or not. If you’re not covered through an employer plan, you’re supposed to get an individual policy.
Here’s what a lot of people still don’t realize:
You can only buy health insurance during the Open Enrollment period each year.
And that’s happening now. If you miss it, you’ll go without qualified coverage for the year and you’ll have to pay a fine on your taxes.
What’s the deadline for enrolling in Obamacare?
If you want a policy to take force January 1, you must enroll by December 15.
The last day you can enroll at all in Obamacare for 2016 is January 31.
