Short-term health insurance plans are the most popular alternative to Obamacare. They are a great option to consider for people who don’t qualify for Obamacare subsidies and don’t have pre-existing health issues.

With a short-term health insurance plan you get solid major medical insurance coverage at a price that is much lower than a non-subsidized Obamacare plan. These plans don’t have as many bells and whistles, but will protect you from unexpected health costs, which is the point of health insurance.

Health Sharing Ministries are faith-based alternatives to health insurance. They are voluntary associations of people who come together to share in one another’s healthcare costs.  In many ways they function like insurance plans, but they are not insurance.

Health Sharing organizations are not for everyone, but they are an increasingly popular option for people who don’t qualify for subsidies in Obamacare can agree to the statement of faith and/or the lifestyle requirements.
